This Thursday (21st), Itamaraty launches a special edition of the magazine Juca, organized by students at the Rio Branco Institute since 2006. The publication had been interrupted during the Jair Bolsonaro (PL) government, to suppress possible articles that would be uncomfortable for foreign policy. of the former president.

The edition to be launched will bring together texts from classes that did not publish their editions in the previous administration. In presenting the publication, Chancellor Mauro Vieira criticizes the “silence imposed on young colleagues” in the “four years prior to Lula’s third term”.

“Uniting six groups, the magazine comes to light after four years of hiatus, between 2019 and 2022, and emerges not only as a voice of resistance to the restrictions faced and a sigh of resilience to the difficulties experienced, but also a cry for the resumption of politics external”, says the chancellor.

Mauro Vieira thanks and congratulates his colleagues who remained “high and engaged” in the magazine. “To readers and other colleagues, I remind you that the project of authoritarianism is shadows and silence, while the nobility of democracy is lights and the debate of ideas.”
