Valladolid announces suspension of ten partners for attacks on Vini Jr, but says he does not consider them racist

Real Valladolid reported that it had communicated to the ten members identified as perpetrators of racist attacks on Vinícius Junior their immediate suspension from the club. As a result, they are prohibited from attending the facilities, which implies in preventing them from attending the games. The announcement comes in the wake of the offensive by La Liga and the State Commission against Violence, Xenophobia and Intolerance in Sport, which are trying to contain the wave of racism in football, channeled mainly against the Brazilian player.

What draws the most attention in the statement released by Valladolid, however, is the fact that Ronaldo Fenômeno’s own club says that it does not consider these members to be racist. According to the note, the “commitment of these specific incidents forced them to take the appropriate measures”.

The removal of the members is valid until the entire episode is investigated, which, according to the club, should take a maximum of one month. Valladolid informed police authorities of the identity of those involved.

These ten partners were identified committing racism against Vini Jr during the game against Real Madrid, on December 30, for the Spanish Championship. In videos that went viral on social networks at the time, it is possible to hear screams of “monkey”, in addition to sounds that imitate the animal, when the player passes near the stands.

“Real Valladolid communicated to a dozen of its members the precautionary measures adopted by the Club’s Social Discipline Body, in relation to the events that occurred during the match against Real Madrid, classified as racism and intolerance. The entity does not consider its fans racist, but the perpetration of these specific incidents forced them to take the appropriate measures.

The club collaborated for the police identification of these people and the three lines of action they will find were explained to those interested: the one carried out by Real Valladolid, the one dependent on the State Commission against Violence, Xenophobia and Intolerance in Sport, and the one that will be developed by common Justice.

The precautionary measure implies the immediate suspension of the membership cards of these people until the resolution of the process, which will occur within a maximum period of one month. Based on the Internal Regulation for Members and General Spectators of the José Zorrilla Stadium and the Regulation of the Club’s Social Discipline Body, these members have fifteen days to present the allegations they deem appropriate“.
