The national president of the PL, Valdemar Costa Neto, said this Monday (17) that he asked the party’s directory in Ceará to open the process of expulsion of licensed deputy Yury do Paredão.

The parliamentarian is part of the wing of the PL that is more connected to the centrão, and not to the group called “root Bolsonarism”.

Since the beginning of the year, he had been the target of criticism from his supporters for getting closer to the Lula (PT) government, posing for photos alongside ministers and the PT himself, in addition to voting with the Executive on certain matters.

Yury was 1 of the 30 PL deputies who voted in favor of the new fiscal framework in the Chamber. Paredão was also one of the most discussed with parliamentarians in the WhatsApp group that brings together the PL deputies of this legislature.

“I asked the PL Directorate in Ceará to open the process of expulsion of federal deputy Yury do Paredão. Apparently, the licensed parliamentarian does not seem to share the ideals of the Liberal Party”, wrote Valdemar in his Twitter profile this afternoon. second.

The report was unable to contact Yury do Paredão. At the beginning of the year, he had already been criticized for sharing photos with Lula.

“It is an honor to welcome President Lula to my city Juazeiro do Norte (…) We look forward to discussing ideas and solutions for the development of our state. Together, we can build a stronger and fairer Ceará for all”, he wrote in 12 of May.

According to reports, the last straw was the publication of photographs in which the parliamentarian appears making an “L” sign with ministers Paulo Pimenta (Secom) and Waldez Góes (Regional Development) during an agenda in Salgueiro, Ceará, last Thursday (13). Deputy Pedro Campos (PSB-PE) shared one of the photos on his Twitter profile.

Valdemar’s announcement was commented on in a group that brings together about 60 PL deputies linked to former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL). According to reports, the parliamentarians celebrated the decision and said it was important to expel the colleague from the caption.

Leader of the Opposition in the Chamber, Carlos Jordy (PL-RJ), however, criticized Valdemar’s decision, stating that the deputy is provoking his expulsion from the party.

“President, you will be doing what he wants. He wants to be expelled so he can carry out his mandate. The best alternative would be to leave him in the salt: without commissions, without fund and without directories. A living dead in the PL. And, if he tries to leave the party, he will lose his mandate. Evaluate!”, he wrote on social networks.
