The president of the PL (Liberal Party), Valdemar Costa Neto, informed this Thursday (20), that he expelled the licensed federal deputy Yury do Paredão from the party. This would have occurred because the parliamentarian supports actions of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) and made the “L” next to ministers of the PT.

Yury confirmed his departure and highlighted that he respects Valdemar Costa Neto’s decision.

“I received deputy Yury do Paredão, from Ceará, at the headquarters of PL Nacional, to whom I reaffirmed that he will be expelled from the party for not sharing the ideals of our party”

wrote Valdemar on Twitter.

The federal deputy confirmed through his social networks the expulsion from the party and stated that he respects Costa Neto’s decision. “I am grateful for the opportunity given in the 2022 election”published. “I continue as a federal deputy defending democracy, doing politics with dialogue, respect, without radicalism, with tolerance, and defending the actions of governments that bring improvements to the Brazilian people”he added.

On Monday (17), Valdemar Costa Neto had asked for the opening of the process of expelling Yury by the party’s directorate in Ceará. The following day, the president of the PL from Ceará highlighted that he would comply with the guidelines of the National Executive of the party and would open the investigation procedure on party loyalty.

However, the president of the PL of Ceará changed his mind and started to defend that the decision should go back to Valdemar Costa Neto, as he understood that the case should be deliberated by the National Directorate.
