USP Medicine promotes lecture on prostate health for women

The USP Faculty of Medicine plans to include modules aimed at LGBTQIA+ people in its next event on female sexuality. The program includes lectures on “the history of the body and prostate health of women”, “reproductive counseling for trans people” and “chemsex and vulnerability.” The initiative is scheduled for the 10th and 11th of November, at the Rebouças Convention Center, in São Paulo.
O chemsex (which refers to “chemical sex”) is a practice that involves the use of psychoactive substances during sexual intercourse, which tend to disinhibit and increase sensations – and pose health risks.
The website advertising the event says that professor Edmund Chada Baracat, organizer of the conferences, seeks to debate current topics “always bringing news and clarifications about the controversial aspects of our specialty”. Baracat is a full professor of gynecology at the USP Faculty of Medicine.
The lecture “the history of the body and the health of prostate women” will be given by Helena Vieira, who is trans and has no training in Medicine. She studied Public Policy Management at USP and was a consultant for Globo soap operas. On her social media profile, she presents herself as a writer, transfeminist, playwright, screenwriter and philosopher. Helena was a candidate for federal deputy for PSOL and was invited by Fernando Haddad, when he was a pre-candidate for the government of São Paulo (currently Minister of Finance), to speak about the LGBT issue in cultural policies during a seminar.
A People’s Gazette contacted the communications department at the USP Faculty of Medicine to ask about the content of the event, but so far has not received any answers.
