Users of the Amapá Psychosocial Care Center participate in welcoming and leisure activities – News of Brazil

The Government of Amapá promoted on Thursday (09) the “FutCaps”, a football tournament, for users of the Psychosocial Care Center for Alcohol and Drugs (Caps AD), with the aim of providing moments of welcome and leisure through sport for the socialization of those undergoing treatment. The initiative took place at the Glicério de Souza Marques Stadium, in Macapá.
The recreational action, developed by the Caps multidisciplinary team, seeks to strategically use the social reintegration of users through access to leisure, strengthening family and community ties, as a social and therapeutic tool, going beyond the physical structure of the unit’s spaces.
According to the social worker and project coordinator, Alciléia Moraes, these initiatives have an important positive impact on those in recovery. “Here it is also a therapeutic action, focused on sports practice and integration of these users with professionals. This directly impacts the recovery and treatment of our service users,” she says.
The person who had fun with his friends was Antônio Jaime, who interacted and actively participated in the activities. “I am very grateful to the Caps board of directors, who gave us such a good moment of joy. We had a lot of fun and I hope there are more days like this”, adds Antônio.
Caps AD offers specialized mental health services and works without the need for prior scheduling or referral. The unit receives people with severe mental suffering, including users of alcohol and other psychoactive substances, whether in crisis situations or in psychosocial rehabilitation processes.
The unit is located at Avenida Cora de Carvalho, no. 1731, in the Central neighborhood and is open from 8am to 6pm.
