USA maintains interest rates between 5.25% and 5.5% – 11/01/2023 – Market

The Fed (Federal Reserve, the US Central Bank) kept the basic interest rate stable between 5.25% and 5.5% this Wednesday (1st).
In communicating the decision, the institution left the door open to another increase in borrowing costs in the future in a monetary policy statement that acknowledged the surprising strength of the US economy.
In the statement, the Fed also highlighted tighter financial conditions facing businesses and households.
“Economic activity expanded at a strong pace in the third quarter,” the U.S. central bank said after a two-day policy meeting in which policymakers were unanimous in agreeing to leave the benchmark interest rate “overnight” in place. same level as the last meeting held in July.
