Amid negotiations with businessmen to build a unified proposal for union reform, leaders of union centrals say that the advancement of economic policy guidelines, such as the fiscal framework and the Tax Reform, created a favorable climate for negotiations.
According to Miguel Torres, president of Força Sindical, thorny themes, like the negotiation fee (which would replace the extinct union tax), have been treated without difficulties.
“The approval of the Labor Reform shows that Congress is seeking understanding. And for workers and businessmen, who are already used to negotiating, I think we are closer to success. Bolsonarist clashes are now a thing of the past”, says João Carlos Gonçalves, o Juruna, general secretary of Força Sindical.
As revealed by the Panel, the union reform project provides for a four-year term for union leaders, the right to oppose, transparency and the requirement that unions prove density so that they can function.
The project also proposes the negotiation rate, defined in the assembly and paid to the unions by all workers covered by collective agreements, deducted from the payroll.
