The Manaus Free Zone should be impacted with the anticipation of collective vacations for at least 15 thousand workers.

Due to the lack of inputs for production in the industry due to the drought in Amazonas, the Manaus Free Zone must be impacted with the anticipation of collective vacations for at least 15 thousand workers. The president of the Metalworkers Union of Amazonas (Sindmetal-AM), Valdemir Santana, announced the names of five companies that will bring forward the recess. See below.

“I can only disclose a few companies that authorized the release of names, due to an agreement between the entity and these companies,” said Santana.

The companies are:

  • TPVision,
  • Yamaha,
  • Samsung,
  • I-Sheng,
  • Philco.

This Wednesday (18), the Samsung was the first company to officially inform that it will bring forward collective vacations for 1,500 employees in the TV, audio and air conditioning lines, from October 30th to November 14th.

A Yamaha, initially, had informed that it would reduce production, but during Wednesday night it confirmed that it will bring forward the collective vacation period, originally scheduled for the month of December, to the period from the 1st to the 10th of November 2023, as a measure to adapt the production to the availability of inputs. The company did not disclose the number of employees.

The other companies have not yet informed the periods and how many workers should be impacted.
