More than six thousand students from Amapá will receive computer and robotics classes in specialized laboratories, thus expanding technical training and job opportunities for these young people. Under the articulation of Senator Davi Alcolumbre (União-AP), coordinator of the federal bench in the National Congress, a term of technical and scientific cooperation was signed this Thursday (24th), in the parliamentary’s office, in Brasília (DF). between the State government, Positivo Tecnologia, CITS Amazonas, the Federal University of Amapá (UNIFAP) and the Superintendency of the Manaus Free Trade Zone (Suframa).
For years, the company Positivo, considered one of the largest groups in the educational sector in the country, invested part of its revenues in research and development in the Manaus region. This year, with the articulations of Senator Davi Alcolumbre, the UNIFAP project was approved so that these values could be applied in Amapá. Thus, later this year, Positivo will grant computer and robotics equipment for the entire state of Amapá and it will be up to the Institute of Science and Technology (ICT), together with UNIFAP, to implement them in public education centers in all municipalities in Amapá .
The initiative is unprecedented, since it is the first time that a university from Amapá is accredited through the benefits of the Law of Informatics. This first stage of the project is budgeted at around R$ 7 million.
For the senator, the action will be responsible for transforming the lives of thousands of families through education. “This is one of the best news that we could give to our young people from Amapa who, from now on, with these computer centers, will be able to expand their knowledge and studies, being able to have, for example, more job opportunities and information”, stressed the senator.
The parliamentarian also thanked the support of Senator Omar Aziz (PSD-AM), who helped in the negotiations with Suframa. Since 2019, the state has been fighting for the implementation of these computer centers in state schools and now, with the support of Senator Davi, the project is becoming a reality.
According to Professor Simone Leal, the federal university should train around 500 teachers to instruct municipal and state public schools in running the new computer labs, which will also have a robotics center.
“It is through this project that we will set up technological centers in all the municipalities of Amapá, which will receive a computer room and a laboratory with robotics equipment”, said the educator.
The meeting in the senator’s office was also attended by the representative of Positivo, Cássio Chameck; from CTIS, Marilda Medeiros Packer; from Suframa, Leopoldo Augusto; the Secretary of Representation of the Government of the State of Amapá in Brasília (DF), Zico Araújo; and the Secretary of Government of the State of Amapá, Jorge Pires.
“It was an extremely positive meeting because we left with an effective action to benefit the entire state of Amapá, not just some regions, bringing connectivity and professionalization to thousands of young people from Amapá”, added Senator Davi.
Also present at the meeting, the rector of UNIFAP, Júlio César Sá de Oliveira, recognized and thanked the senator’s support for the implementation of one of the most important projects for young people in the state. “Since 2019 there has been an attempt to make this dream a reality for our state and now, with the intervention of Senator Davi, it has been possible”.
