Faced with a wave of attacks from the center, the Minister of Health, Nísia Trindade, became the target of the TCU (Federal Audit Court).

The court of accounts received a representation presented by deputy Carla Zambelli (PL-SP) and other parliamentarians, this Monday (8), and the process was distributed. There is still no rapporteur minister for the process.

In the representation, the deputies state that, at the end of 2023, the minister authorized the allocation of R$ 241 million of so-called non-taxable funds, “benefiting municipalities that do not have the capacity to carry out high and medium complexity procedures, with the money received” .

The transfer information was published by O Estado de S.Paulo.

To the TCU, the deputies stated that these resources were from parliamentary amendments and, therefore, could not have been distributed without Congressional approval.

“On December 28, 2023, with the activities of the National Congress already closed, the manager of the Health portfolio, Nísia Trindade, signed the ordinance allocating values for non-imposing bench amendments, disrespecting the form of the transfer and, on top of that , distributing government resources on its own, possibly to allies,” they write.

The ministry informed that it is not up to the benches to choose the allocation of funds for non-imposing amendments and that the distribution followed defined criteria.
