UFPR expels law student accused of racism, homophobia and support for Nazism

The Federal University of Paraná (UFPR) expelled on Friday (29) the Law student who sent audios of a racist, homophobic nature and in support of Nazism to another student at the institution. The information is from Tribuna do Paraná.

The accused, whose name was not disclosed, had been removed from the university in March, after the audios became public through a complaint made by state deputy Ana Júlia Ribeiro (PT) on her social networks.

The expulsion would be justified because the conduct contravenes what is established by the university’s general regulations. According to the commission responsible for analyzing the case, there was a “non-compliance with the duties of maintaining conduct compatible with morality, of observing legal and regulatory standards and of treating people with civility, as well as having committed the infractions of harassing someone, in public place or place accessible to the public, in a manner offensive to modesty; offend the physical, moral integrity or health of others; to harass someone or disturb their peace of mind, by accident or reprehensible reason; and to practice other conduct considered incompatible with morality and good customs”.

In the audios released at the beginning of the year, a male voice uses expressions such as “bichonas” and “pardinhos” in messages that would have been sent to a member of a study group at UFPR.

“Homophobia is a crime only if you are a faggot. Are you a fagot? If you’re not a faggot, it’s not a crime. Are you connected? And a lot depends on who directed the insult. Cynical, rubbish”, he said in the recordings.

After mentioning a German surname, the voice further comments: “There is the genealogy there, the names of my father and mother. We are white. True white. German gene. Then I watch you there… Brown, mixed.”
