On March 16th and 17th, the XXXVII Amazonense Jiu-Jitsu Championship will take place, starting at 8am, at the Arena Poliesportiva Amadeu Teixeira, located on Avenida Constantino Nery, s/nº, Flores neighborhood. The event, which is organized by the Amazonas Jiu-Jitsu Federation (FJJAM), sponsored by Tumpex, a solid waste collection company in Manaus, aims to select athletes to compete in the 2024 Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Championship, as all champions and runner-up in the Championship will be entitled to compete in the Brazilian Jiu-jitsu Championship.

“Tumpex understands that state championships that are capable of taking our athletes to national competitions are extremely important. Jiu-jitsu, which is a martial art, is also a way to encourage children, young people and adults to develop self-defense and discipline, but it is also an activity that is good for the body and mind in its entirety. And all of these are values ​​of fundamental importance so that our athletes from Amazonas can stand out even more on the national stage”, declared Marcus Melo, administrative manager at Tumpex.

The competitions will take place in the Bantamweight and Heavyweight categories, in addition to the Absolute category, from white belt to black belt. More than three thousand athletes, aged 5 to 65, are expected to participate in the championship. The participation of delegations from municipalities in the Metropolitan region of Manaus, in addition to Maués, Coari, Tefé and Parintins, is confirmed.

The competition has free entry and more than 10 thousand people are expected during the two-day event. The championship has the participation of all federated academies from the interior and capital.
