The Regional Electoral Court of Amapá (TRE-AP) decided, during the 3rd Ordinary Judiciary Session of 2024, to suspend the annotations of the leadership bodies of the Podemos party in the State of Amapá. The Electoral Court, unanimously, decided to follow the vote of the Rapporteur, judge Paulo Madeira, who, in the session, rejected the request to regularize the accounts of the party group, referring to the year 2020.
The trial on the suspension began on January 23rd, at the time TRE Amapá accepted the party’s preliminary thesis that the defense was presented in a timely manner, Judge Thina Luiza Sousa asked for views.
In the decision, it was understood that, even with the presentation of the defense, the party association continues to have its accounts deemed unpaid, because the request for Regularization of Accounts Rendering No. 0600145-14.2023, formulated by the party, was rejected, with the party remaining with irregular accounts.
The decision may be appealed to the Court itself.
Participating in person at the 3rd Plenary Session were the president of TRE-AP, judge João Lages, federal judge Jucélio Fleury Neto, member judges Paulo Madeira, Thina Luiza Sousa and Rivaldo Valente, as well as the regional electoral attorney, Milton Tiago Araújo de Souza Junior. By videoconference, the vice-president and electoral inspector, judge Carmo Antônio de Souza, and judge Paola Julien Santos.
