The Court of Justice of Amapá (Tjap) formalized, last week, with the Municipality of Macapá (PMM), the Donation Agreement for a vehicle. The car will be destined for the Guardianship Council of the North Zone of Macapá, with the purpose of strengthening the agency’s work in defending the rights of children and adolescents in the city. On that occasion, the Judiciary also signed a Technical Cooperation Agreement with the PMM, so that, through the Municipal Health Department and Registries of the capital of Amapá, it can facilitate the registration of newborns in the Bailique Archipelago.

Both partnerships aim to strengthen citizenship. The documents were signed by the judge-president of Tjap, Adão Carvalho, and the mayor of the capital of Amapá, Antônio Furlan, at the headquarters of the Judiciary.

Donation

According to Law No. 8,069, of July 13, 1990, in Article 131 of the Child and Adolescent Statute (ECA), the Guardianship Council is a permanent and autonomous, non-jurisdictional body, charged by society with ensuring compliance with the rights of child and adolescent. The donation of the vehicle, a Fiat Dobló van, will help with this objective in Macapá.

Cooperation

With technical cooperation, the Judiciary will work with civil records at the Jucá Notary Office (1st Notary Office, Public Records and Annexes) and Vales Notary Office (Jucá Notary Office (3rd Notary Office, Public Records and Annexes) and Municipal Health Secretariat , to issue the Birth Registration for children in the Bailique Archipelago. The measure aims to combat under-registration.

The mayor of Macapá thanked Tjap for support and emphasized the importance of the measures. “We are happy with the donation made by the Judiciary. The vehicle will greatly assist in the institutional mission of the North Macapá Guardianship Council. I would like to thank judge Adão Carvalho, for also establishing the partnership for the registration of children born in the Bailique Archipelago”highlighted Antônio Furlan.

The president of TJAP highlighted that cooperating with the Municipal Executive in the exercise of citizenship results in benefits for the society of Macapá, which is among the objectives of the Judiciary.

“The utility car is in good condition, but it was no longer of interest to us and will be of good use to the Guardianship Council. And the partnership for issuing birth records will expand access to basic civil documentation for Bailique citizens. Both the donation of the vehicle and technical cooperation are ways of supporting the Municipality in the exercise of citizenship. With this, we provide opportunities for the development of our society.”said judge Adão Carvalho.
