Tinder: friends can be cupids and help match – 10/23/2023 – Tech

New Tinder function announced this Monday (23) allows friends and family to access the dating app to recommend potential matches to the user.

The feature called “matchmaker” allows you to invite people who are not registered on Tinder. However, the person who still chooses whether to start a conversation is the other user of the application, who needs to like it.

In addition to Brazil, the “matchmaker” is now available in the following countries: United States, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, South Korea, Spain, Thailand, United Kingdom and Vietnam. According to the company, it should be launched in the rest of the world in the coming months.

Tinder users can share an invite link with up to 15 friends within a 24-hour period. The option is in the application settings.

After clicking on the link, the “cupid” can log in to the application or continue as a guest, if they pass an age verification and agree to Tinder’s terms of use. The experience lasts 24 hours.

The guest is only responsible for recommending profiles to the Tinder user, without being able to chat or send messages on their behalf.

Once the session is over, Tinder users will have the opportunity to review the profiles recommended for them.

If a recommended profile is liked by the user, it will appear with the “recommendation” badge. If there are no likes, nothing changes.

“The Tinder user still makes the final decision about who to swipe to the right to try to match, but now knows who their friends are rooting for,” says the company.
