Manaus (AM) – State deputy Thiago Abrahim (União Brasil) spoke, this Thursday (23), at the tribune of the Legislative Assembly of Amazonas (Aleam), about the problems that students from the São Sebastião do Corocoro community, located in the municipality of Nhamundá, 379 kilometers from Manaus, have faced with the phenomenon of fallen lands. To help the region, the parliamentarian presented application nº 829/2023 for the construction of a new school.
“From this podium, I make a claim on behalf of the municipality of Nhamundá, for whom I have great affection. It refers to the community of São Sebastião do Corocoro, which has been suffering from landslides due to the flooding of rivers and is in imminent danger. The school is unusable. It’s a sad reality,” said Abrahim.
The deputy from União Brasil also requested, together with the State Secretariat for Education and Teaching Quality in Amazonas (Seduc), that the school be built in masonry.
“We are submitting a request to Seduc to build a new school to provide conditions for students to exercise their right to study and for teachers to have a healthy environment. The information we have is that the school to be built will be a wooden school and we ask that Seduc look carefully and with care and make a school as beautiful as it was before”, he concluded.
