The first project gives priority to low-income families that have been affected by disasters, natural or man-made.

Manaus (AM) – State deputy Thiago Abrahim (União Brasil) had three more bills approved by the Legislative Assembly of Amazonas (Aleam), this Wednesday (23). The first of these was Bill No. 223/23, which gives priority to low-income families that have been affected by disasters, natural or man-made, in a housing program in Amazonas.

“Our region is affected by rainfall and rising rivers every year. It is very difficult for a family man to lose his dream home to a flood. It’s hard to start from scratch. We need to have this differentiated look at these families and guarantee priority in housing programs”,

Abraham said.

Another approved matter was nº 295/2023, which grants leave of up to five consecutive days, monthly, to public servants of the State, who prove severe symptoms associated with menstrual flow.

“The project ensures that the five days of leave are not deducted from the servants’ pay. It is important to remember that a gynecological medical report is required to prove the serious symptoms associated with menstruation”,

explained the deputy.

The deputy from União Brasil also received the approval of bill nº 537/2023, which grants people with disabilities the right to use adapted communication and computer equipment in public agencies in Amazonas.

“It is important that the inclusion of people with disabilities is present in everyday life. This bill aims to implement the right already conquered by the person with disability. The public service has an obligation to provide the means to assist them, so that they can carry out their work activities. I, as a representative of the people, have the duty to monitor and fight for this right to be ensured”,

concluded.
