The plane that would have been bought by Leila for Palmeiras was a success in the industry and has already cost up to 50 million dollars

This Tuesday, the president of Palmeiras announced to advisers a significant acquisition for the club: a plane that will transport the squad in games throughout the season. According to the ge website, the aircraft that will be ready in just over three months is a 114-seat Embraer E190, a model that has already been one of the greatest successes in the aviation industry.

According to websites specializing in aviation, the E190 already cost around US$50 million (R$255 million at the current exchange rate) in 2017, a value that fluctuated to US$34 million in the following years. In more recent negotiations, airlines even negotiated, in wholesale, aircraft of the model at a price of 5.6 million dollars (28.6 million reais), a price difficult to achieve in unit orders.

The price fluctuation is explained by the launch of a model update, the E190 E2, which took over the market share in 2018. It is still not completely sure which of these models was acquired by Leila. The aviation website “Aeroin” also points out that there are rumors that it would actually be an E-195, a relatively larger model.

The same “Aeroin” reports that Leila had already filed a process to open an airline at ANAC last year, seeking authorization for the use of the aircraft. The website says that there are only two models of private E190 and E195 in the country, which belong to a bank and a mining company.

“Paramount Business Jets”, an American company specializing in the rental of private planes, estimates the rent of an E190 at around US$14,850 (about 75,800 reais) per hour.
