The installation of tents for the Sports Caravan and Arts Caravan started – News of Brazil

This Thursday (3) the City Hall of Macapá started the installation of the tents for the Caravana do Sport and Caravana das Artes events with the inclusion of neuroatypical children. The two Caravans will receive 1,800 elementary school students, from the 8th to the 10th of August. The projects are carried out by the Mpumalanga institute and the Sport and Education Institute, in partnership with city halls.
The tents are being installed to bring comfort and accessibility to the artistic language workshops: with music, dance and movement. In addition, a tent is being set up for dialogues in the training of teachers and guardians of neuroatypical children: Educational Sports training, Live with Art training and Sports and Arts training for neuroatypical children and young people. The assembly of the tents has the support of the secretariats of Works and Urban Janitorial.
The programming aimed at students includes collective and adventure sports: basketball, soccer, Slackline, volleyball, fights, tennis, athletics and unconventional games. In addition, they will have sound and movement artistic workshops with the aim of providing artistic experiences with bodily, spatial and rhythmic-sound experiences.
The professor and sub-coordinator of the Sports and Education Institute, Marilene Tavares, was accompanying the unloading of the equipment and highlighted the importance of the Sports and Arts Caravans in the recreational training of children.
“It is important that we are mobilizing this action to think about public policies for sport, art, education, culture and leisure, thus integrating all these actors so that everything happens in the best way”, he said.
“We are here to show the large structure that is being prepared to receive the caravans, with the Mpumalanga Institute and the Sport and Education Institute, in partnership with the Macapá city hall, which is supporting and helping in the preparations for the event”, commented Luziwania Oliveira, coordinator of the Paralympic Games in Macapá and the caravans.

Caravana do Sport and Caravana das Artes are part of an itinerant project by Unicef, Disney and ESPN, carried out in Brazil by the Mpumalanga Institute and the Sport & Education Institute, with the support of local governments. In Macapá, the project has the cooperation of the city hall, and is organized by the Municipal Department of Education (Semed), with support from the Departments of Health (Semsa) and the Civil Office (Secgabi), Human Rights (Smdh), Management ( Secg) and the Urban Janitor (Semzur).
