This Wednesday (14), the UOL portal released audios of conversations between Robinho and friends of the former athlete that were part of the material used by the Public Ministry of Italy in the process that condemned the Brazilian for collective rape. The content is available on the “UOL Sport Histórias” podcast.

The former Milan and Santos striker was sentenced to nine years in prison, but remains at large in Brazil.

In one of the excerpts recorded by the police through a wiretap installed in a car, Robinho spoke to Ricardo Falco about how they would respond to the rape accusation that weighed against them both.

“The girl knows you didn’t do shit to her, is she an idiot? We’re going to punch her in the face. You’re going to punch her in the face, you’re going to say: ‘Fuck, what did I do to you?”, he said. the former player.

According to UOL, there are more than ten hours of listening that became the main evidence in the process that ended with the conviction of Robinho and Falco to nine years in prison for collective rape. The sentence passed through the three instances in the courts of Italy and is no longer subject to appeal.

In the recordings, Robinho confirms the victim’s state of unconsciousness at the time of the crime. “That’s why I’m laughing, I don’t care. The girl was extremely drunk, she doesn’t even know who I am,” he said.

At another time, the former player, called “Neguinho” by his friends, admits to having had sexual relations with the victim. He has denied this since the beginning of the investigations.

“Let’s guess wrong: ‘Ah, something happened, they found out that Ricardo participated, that Neguinho ate the mine.’ ‘Yeah, I ate it! Because she wanted to. Where did I force the girl? I ate the girl, she gave me a pacifier and then I left. The guys stayed there'”, said the former player.

Part of these conversations had already been made public in 2020, when the Milan court published the Brazilians’ conviction.

But the press had access at the time only to transcripts of the content of the recordings. The conversations, in Portuguese, were translated into Italian for use in the trial and then translated back into Portuguese by the press.

Robinho claimed that his words were mistranslated and taken out of context.

Supposed translation problems are the basis of Robinho’s defense in the process being processed today at the STJ (Superior Court of Justice). This process refers to Italy’s request that Brazil execute the sentence of Robinho and Falco, that is, that they serve their sentences here, since the Brazilian Constitution prohibits the extradition of its citizens.

Robinho’s lawyers have already asked the court to demand the entire process and translation from Italy, not just the sentence. But the STJ denied it. The case is still pending.

The UOL report states that he contacted Robinho to offer him the opportunity to comment on the audios, but the former player preferred not to give an interview. Falco and the other defendants were also contacted, but declined to comment.
