Teachers: Alderman calls for the impeachment of Eduardo Bolsonaro – 07/10/2023 – Mônica Bergamo

São Paulo councilor Toninho Vespoli (PSOL) sent a complaint to the Federal Public Ministry (MPF) against federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL-SP). The psolist asks that the son of former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) have his mandate revoked after making alleged slanderous comments against teachers.

On Sunday (9), in a speech during a pro-armament event in Brasília, the deputy compared “doctrinators” teachers to drug dealers. The speech made the parliamentarian’s name enter the list of most commented subjects on Twitter.

“There is no difference between an indoctrinating professor and a drug dealer who tries to kidnap and take our children into the world of crime”, said Eduardo.

Afterwards, the congressman stated that the “doctrinator” teacher might be “even worse” than the drug dealer. “Because he will cause discord within your household, seeing oppression in every relationship.”

In a representation sent to the MPF, Vespoli states that Eduardo promoted “an untrue and illicit speech against the class of teachers”, a group that is considered fundamental for the formation of the population.

“Faced with the comment, the deputy’s lack of knowledge about the subject in question is evident, wanting only to promote some kind of turmoil or indignation with his aggressive and, minimally, disrespectful speech”, says the councilor from São Paulo.

According to a psolista, Eduardo Bolsonaro would not only have broken parliamentary decorum and slandered teachers, but also used his position to promote hate speech and “an attempt at vulgar self-promotion”.

The councilor asks the MPF to forward to the STF (Supreme Federal Court) a complaint claiming the removal of the deputy from office, in addition to an eight-year veto for the exercise of public functions.

This Monday (10), the Minister of Justice and Public Security, Flávio Dino, said he had asked the Federal Police to investigate the speeches at the event with the participation of the former president’s son.
