Teacher competition: Government of SP extends registration – 06/12/2023 – Education

The Government of São Paulo has extended until June 27 the deadline for registration for those interested in taking part in the public tender that will hire 15,000 effective teachers to work in approximately 3,500 state schools in São Paulo. Initially, the deadline would end this Monday (12).
Such as Sheet showed, the lack of teachers was a problem that worried the new government.
The extension of the date to the 27th was published in the Official Gazette. With this, the bank slip will expire on the 28th of this month. The test application date is maintained for August 6th.
Entries can be made through the Vunesp website. The starting salaries are BRL 5,000 (40 hours a week) and BRL 3,125 (25 hours a week).
Candidates will take an objective test and a discursive test. The event also provides for the submission of technical proof in video class format and titles for classification.
Candidates must choose their discipline, and it is possible to enroll in one or two disciplines, as long as they are at different times.
The tests take place at two times, depending on the subject chosen, in the morning for arts, biology, history, physical education, Portuguese, mathematics and philosophy; and in the afternoon for science, physics, geography, English, chemistry, sociology and special education.
The registration fee is BRL 40 for a single course option and BRL 60 for two. Blood donors are exempt, and students and low-income people can request a reduction in the fee – both cases require prior proof, according to the criteria of the public notice.
Upon registration, the candidate must indicate, in order of preference, seven Boards of Education for admission purposes. If, after the contest is held, there are no vacancies available in the indicated Teaching Boards, the candidate may apply for a vacancy in the other Teaching Boards, according to their classification.
The state of São Paulo had not opened a selection process for basic education teachers for nine years. The public tender was authorized in early 2022, still under the management of former governor João Doria, but the public notice was only released in May of this year.
