TCU president goes to STF against Dallagnol – 07/12/2023 – Mônica Bergamo

The president of the Federal Court of Auditors (TCU), Bruno Dantas, asked the Federal Supreme Court (STF) for full access to messages from Operation Lava Jato prosecutors seized in Operation Spoofing.
The conversations, held in 2018, show then-prosecutor Deltan Dallagnol saying he would make a “harsh” note against Dantas because of an interview he gave to the newspaper O Globo criticizing decisions by then-judge Sergio Moro within the scope of Operation Lava Jato.
At the time, Moro was trying to prohibit the use of Lava Jato evidence against whistleblowers and companies that signed leniency agreements with the Curitiba (PR) task force.
Dantas defined Moro’s decision as “backlog” and said that only the STF could withdraw from the TCU the evidence shared by Lava Jato.
At the time, Moro was treated as something of a hero by the authorities in Brasilia, and criticisms of him like those made by Bruno Dantas were rare.
In speeches to other prosecutors, Deltan reveals that he would make “a note about Bruno Dantas’ manifestation at the request of JF”.
The suspicion is that Deltan was referring to the Federal Justice, that is, to Sergio Moro, who commanded the 13th Federal Court of Curitiba.
“We could be facing an attempt at institutional coercion”, says lawyer Pierpaolo Bottini, who represents the president of the TCU.
“I asked the STF for a copy of all the dialogues to assess legal measures. If they are true, they prove the incest that took place in Lava Jato and reveal a bunch of hired guns receiving a reputational murder order”, says Bruno Dantas.
Prosecutors do not officially recognize the dialogs as trustworthy.
