The Federal Court of Auditors (TCU) ratified, this Wednesday (26), the precautionary measure of Minister Jorge Oliveira that determined the suspension of the payment of the additional for length of service, known as five-year terms, to federal judges. In all, around BRL 870 million would be paid with the bonus (see full text).

According to the minister, this additional payment was no longer paid to judges in 2006, when “they were expressly absorbed by the subsidies of the members of the Union’s Judiciary Power, which is why I cautiously determined the suspension of their payments on April 19”.

The process was proposed by deputy Kim Kataguiri (União Brasil-SP) on possible irregularities that occurred in the Federal Justice Council (CJF) in the budgetary execution of the expenditure with personnel of the Judiciary Power. Another representation of similar content was made by the deputy attorney general Lucas Rocha Furtado, from the Public Ministry with the TCU (MPTCU).

Both representations question the decision of the CJF that reinstated the payment of the benefit known as a five-year period or additional for length of service, which corresponds to a 5% increase in remuneration every five years, to federal magistrates who entered the career until 2006.
