Otavio Frias Filho Chair opens enrollment for academics – 04/27/2023 – Politics

Undergraduate and graduate students can apply, from this Thursday (27th) until May 3rd, to compete for a vacancy in a research group linked to the Otavio Frias Filho Chair of Studies in Communication, Democracy and Diversity, created by the IEA ( Institute of Advanced Studies) at USP in partnership with Sheet.
50 vacancies will be made available, with participation, preferably, by videoconference and eventually in person or mixed, depending on the conditions.
Those selected will voluntarily develop ten meetings related to the theme “Science, Communication and the Future”, chosen for the 2023-2024 cycle of the chair, in order to gather elements for the organization of an electronic book with articles by the chosen researchers.
The meetings will start on May 9th and will last until April next year, always on Tuesdays, at 3 pm (São Paulo time).
Successful candidates will be notified one day before, on May 8, by email.
All interested parties must register by sending their personal details (full name, identification document, nationality, cell phone or home) to the email address [email protected], with a copy to [email protected], as well as a letter of intentions and the academic curriculum, through the Lattes platform.
The subject of the email must include “Cíclo Cátedra Otávio Frias Filho 2023-2024” and the name of the candidate.
The Otavio Frias Filho Chair is headed by biologist and neuroscientist Suzana Herculano-Houzel, an associate professor at Vanderbilt University, in the United States, since 2016, and a columnist for the newspaper. She is one of the main names in Brazilian neuroscience, with works of international repercussion.
