Manaus (AM) – The Chamber of Deputies must vote in plenary on the text of the Tax Reform next week, according to the statement of deputy Aguinaldo Ribeiro (PP-PB), rapporteur of the proposal in the House, made this Wednesday (6). The parliamentarian seeks to build an agreement with the Federal Senate to prevent only certain sections of the reform from being approved.

Aguinaldo hopes that the text will be promulgated in 2023 – this is the same expectation as the Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad.

According to the parliamentarian, the text that came from the Senate under the rapporteur of Eduardo Braga (MDB-AM) has sections that he “did not want to have in the opinion”, but that were necessary for the PEC to be approved in the Upper House.

“This is the moment to listen to the Senate. Carry out this dialogue to, from there, propose in our understanding what is best for the country. There are things that were included in the text that were not what I wanted to have in my text, but it was possible to be approved”,

Aguinaldo said.

According to the rapporteur, the president of the Chamber, Arthur Lira (PP-AL), demanded that he speak with the president of the Federal Senate, Rodrigo Pacheco (PSD-MG), and Eduardo Braga to define the latest details of the PEC. The meeting should take place between this Wednesday (6) and Thursday (7).

“The president’s idea is to vote next week. I’ll talk to the Senate. From today until tomorrow, I must be with President Pacheco to align, listen a little. President Arthur [Lira] He also delegated this responsibility to me to talk about text issues with the rapporteur and the president of the Senate”,

detailed Aguinaldo.

According to the deputy, the idea of ​​the conversation with Pacheco and Braga is to evaluate which points in the text can be removed without compromising the tax reform. “There are things that we would like to change, but if it is not technically possible and does not compromise the core of what tax is, patience. We will have time to improve in the future”, he highlighted.
