Created this Tuesday (14) by the mayor, Arthur Lira (PP-AL), the working group to discuss the tax reform has 12 male deputies and no women.
The exclusion prompted a request from federal deputy Any Ortiz (Cidadania-RS) to Lira to include at least one female representative on the board.
“Brazilian female entrepreneurs, who are fundamental to the country’s economy, cannot be left out of this debate. It is essential that Congress also takes into account the perspectives and needs of women when preparing fiscal and tax policies”, she says, who chairs the Parliamentary Front for Entrepreneurial Women.
In October last year, 91 women deputies were elected, or 17.7% of the House. By that ratio, the tax reform group should have at least two female congressmen.
The collegiate has 90 days to complete its work. Deputy Reginaldo Lopes (PT-MG) presides and Aguinaldo Ribeiro (PP-PB) is the rapporteur.
