The day after the presentation of the fiscal framework, Minister Fernando Haddad (Finance) received representatives from the financial market and productive sectors in São Paulo.
The meetings, seven in total, were scheduled in advance to deal with various matters, including the new fiscal rule and the expected tax reform.
During the morning of this Friday (31), representatives of Santander Brasil were with the minister, including president Mário Leão; Anbima (Brazilian Association of Financial and Capital Market Entities) and the President of Enel, Max Xavier.
In the afternoon, economists who are heads of financial market agencies and the president of Fiesp, Josué Gomes da Silva, who have a close relationship with the Lula government and even delivered a contribution to the tax reform about three months ago, are expected.
The Minister of Finance’s agenda ends with Rodrigo Luna, president of Secovi-SP, to talk about the Brazilian real estate market and tax reform.
The postponement of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva’s trip to China allowed Haddad to bring forward the proposal that will replace the current spending cap. The text will now be submitted for analysis by Congress.
The anticipation of the framework also ended up overshadowing the return of former president Jair Bolsonaro to Brazil, after three months in the US.
