Amazonense won three fights and overcame athletes from Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and the Federal District
Tasso Alves, 34, from Amazonas, won the national competition organized by the Brazilian Wrestling Confederation (CBW) this Saturday (01/21), in Rio de Janeiro, and became two-time Brazilian beach fight champion.
Tasso, who competes in the up to 80 kg category, won three bouts and overcame athletes from Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and the Federal District. He had already been Brazilian champion in 2015, in Maceió, in the up to 70 kg category.
“I am very happy to start 2023 on the right foot. First competition of the year and national beach fight champion. I, who am an ambassador of beach fighting in Amazonas, consider this achievement very important not only for me, but for all athletes in the state”, said the champion.
Captain of the PM, in addition to being a jiu-jitsu, judo and wrestling fighter (in door and on the beach), Tasso intends to use his influence in the field to bring a stage of the Brazilian Championship to Manaus. The stage could be the Nossa Praia Sports complex, in Morado do Sol.
“Soon we will be holding the King of the Beach in Manaus, an opportunity to reveal new athletes, and my goal is to get with the Confederation that our event serves as a stage of the Nationals”, said the captain of the fights.
