The governor of SP, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), will have as deputy leaders in the Legislative Assembly future deputies Tomé Abduch (Republicans) and Guto Zacarias (União Brasil), belonging to right-wing movements that have exchanged heavy criticism in recent years.
Abduch is from Bolsonarist Nas Ruas, while Zacarias is linked to MBL (Movimento Brasil Livre), in opposition to the former president. The two will now need to work in tune, under the command of Tarcísio’s leader in the House, Jorge Wilson (Republicans). The inauguration will take place on March 15.
An example of animosity between the groups occurred in May 2021. During a live participation in the Pânico program, on Jovem Pan radio, Abduch tried to punch and kick the comedian André Marinho, close to the MBL, during a heated discussion about the Bolsonaro government.
Zacarias stated to the Panel that he never had personal quarrels with Abduch. “He’s from the right, like me. Now it’s time to look at the guidelines that lie ahead, a moment of unity”.
Along the same lines, Jorge Wilson stated that “the moment is to converge, not to diverge”. When contacted, Abduch did not respond to the Panel’s contact.
