Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans) received this Monday (4) the block of Bolsonarist deputies from Alesp (Legislative Assembly of São Paulo), in an attempt to rebuild his relationship with the group. As the Panel showed, the governor has been criticized for not paying attention to Bolsonarists, whether in agendas, amendments or spaces in management.

At the meeting, Tarcísio nodded to the group and committed not to send the project that increases the ICMS (state tax) and also said that he will expand civic-military schools in the state. Parliamentarians from the Bolsonaro bloc had already said they would oppose the project and one of them, Gil Diniz (PL-SP), accused Tarcísio about military schools in an interview with Sheet.

According to participants at the meeting, the governor did not address the Sabesp privatization proposal, which should be voted on in Alesp this week. He depends on the votes of Bolsonarists to get the text approved.

“Long but important meeting. We never stop supporting the government’s good proposals and we do not shy away from criticizing what we may not agree with. The important thing is that, through dialogue, we make progress in stopping the increase in ICMS, in the commitment of valuing our police forces and the commitment to multiply civic-military schools in SP”, says Lucas Bove (PL-SP)

Gil Diniz says the meeting was excellent.

“In addition to reaffirming our commitment to Governor Tarcísio, who has been in office since the beginning of his term, we heard that he will not send the tax increase proposal to Alesp”, he states.

In November, the states of the Southeast and South, with the exception of Santa Catarina, released a letter in which they stated that it was necessary to increase the ICMS to guarantee greater revenue after the Tax Reform came into force. The participation of each state in the collection of the new tax that will be placed in place of the ICMS, the IBS, will depend on the average ICMS revenue in the period 2024-2028.

Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad said that
