Tarcísio government wants to create state provisional measure – 03/20/2023 – Panel

The Tarcísio de Freitas government (Republicans) will send to the Legislative Assembly of São Paulo a proposal creating a state equivalent of the provisional measures, existing at the national level.
The idea is that this will be done through an amendment to the state constitution.
The government argues that it needs a more agile legislative instrument than bills, which take longer to process. “They are important to make management less rigid. In addition, several states have their own provisional measures”, says the secretary of the Civil House, Arthur Lima.
The state MP would mirror the national one regarding deadlines. It would be valid for 120 days and would lose its effectiveness if it was not approved within that period.
