The Tarcísio de Freitas government (Republicans) intends to quintuple the contracts with municipalities made through the Develop SP, development agency linked to the State Secretariat for Economic Development.
In 2023, the forecast is for projects totaling BRL 749 million, against BRL 140.3 million carried out last year.
The focus, according to the agency, will be on small municipalities in the state. Projects can range from road and sanitation works to initiatives to improve public management.
The governor has set the goal of changing the profile of the Secretariat for Economic Development, with a focus on encouraging entrepreneurship and creating a favorable business environment in the state.
The portfolio is headed by Jorge Lima, who has experience as an executive in large companies, while Desenvolvimento SP is headed by Ricardo Dias Brito, who was a professor of economics at USP.
