Tabata asks the MEC for explanations about blocking R$ 332 million

Federal deputy Tabata Amaral (PSB-SP) informed, on the night of this Friday (4), that she sent a letter to the Ministry of Education asking for explanations about the blockade of R$ 332 million that would be destined to basic education (R$ 201 million), research grants (R$ 50 million), modernization of federal educational institutions (R$ 51 million) and other portfolio programs.
In a note, sent to Gazeta do Povo, after the publication of a report pointing out the silence of the education activist, the deputy said that “it is essential to understand how the contingency affects the different programs of the ministry, as well as what the MEC is doing to prevent this contingency from harming, in the end, our students”.
“As an Education Bench, it is our role to be attentive and active to ensure that public educational policies are treated with due priority, given that this is one of the most strategic areas for our country,” he wrote.
In the letter to the MEC, the parliamentarian asks for information about the public policies that will be affected and what measures will be proposed to guarantee the effectiveness of public policies. In addition, she also questions the prediction of future budget recomposition to the MEC.
