Current leader of the ranking, Brazilian surfer Filipe Toledo won his third championship in the Jeffrey’s Bay stage, the penultimate of the world tour before the dispute for the title of the WSL Finals, in September, in California (United States). On Tuesday (18), Filipinho had already guaranteed his qualification for the WSL Finals in advance, by advancing to the quarterfinals, overcoming the Indonesian Rio Waida. Only the top five in each gender will compete in the decisive phase that guarantees the winners the 2023 world title. The WSL Finals will be in Long Trestles, California (USA), between September 8th and 16th.
The women’s final was played on Tuesday (18): the North American Lakey Peterson got the better of the Australian Molly Picklum, adding 14.77 against 13.50, respectively.
The 10th and final regular leg of the WSL (World Surfing League) will take place in Tahiti, from August 11th to 20th.
