Moms and dads still turn to ultra-processed foods to organize their children’s snacks on vacation. But you can improve children’s nutrition with quick meals prepared with fruit.

According to Lara Folster, ambassador in Brazil for Food Revolution, a project by chef Jamie Oliver, children become accustomed to eating healthier foods when they are introduced during leisure time.

Fathers and mothers can include items that their children have never eaten in their daily meals, as if it were a challenge or game. “This makes the process more fun and helps build food awareness,” says Folster.

The same happens when children help in the kitchen. Therefore, the expert suggests some recipes to make with your children. I separate some below.

Homemade ice cream

  • 4 frozen dwarf bananas
  • 2 cups mango, strawberry or pineapple
  • 1/2 cup plant-based milk of your choice

How to make: Blend everything in a blender and serve in a jar. You can also put the mixture in the popsicle mold.

Watermelon slushie

  • 1 watermelon cut and frozen.

How to make: On a plate, grate the red part and serve as a shaved ice.

Coconut water popsicle

  • 1 liter of coconut water
  • cut fruit

How to make: In a popsicle mold, pour coconut water. Add pieces of fruit of your choice and place in the freezer until firm.

pure acai

  • 2 frozen 100% açaí pulps
  • 2 frozen dwarf bananas
  • 1/2 cup of water
  • honey

How to make: Blend everything in a blender and serve in a bowl or glass, like a shake.

Ice cream from Avocado

  • 1 medium frozen avocado
  • fresh coconut milk
  • honey to taste

How to make: Blend everything in a blender and serve in a pot or popsicle molds.

Guacamole with oven-baked tapioca

  • 1 fresh avocado
  • olive oil and salt
  • tapioca

How to make: Mash the fruit and then add oil and salt. In a mold, place tapioca until lined. Then, bake until it hardens and becomes crispy.
