STF suspends purchase of PET bottles and launches program – 03/15/2024 – Panel

The STF (Supreme Federal Court) suspended the purchase of PET bottles after finding an average consumption of 14 thousand units of water per month.
The court states that the idea now is to invest in the use of high-flow filters so that each server uses their own bottle. For visitors, there will be disposable paper containers.
The measure is part of the STF+Sustentável program, which will be launched on Wednesday (20) by the president of the court, minister Luís Roberto Barroso. The objective of the program is to carry out socio-environmental projects and actions within the court.
During the launch of the program, court staff promise to inaugurate a “cup” made from 3,000 plastic bottles.
