The virtual plenary of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) began to judge, in the early hours of this Tuesday (16), the fifth block of 250 denounced by the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) for alleged participation in the acts of January 8, in Brasilia.

In this fifth phase of analysis, the ministers analyze those cited in the inquiries that investigate the alleged instigators of the acts, who were camped in front of the Army Headquarters, and those suspected of participating in the invasion and depredation of the headquarters of the Three Powers.

Minister Alexandre de Moraes, who is also the rapporteur for the investigations, voted in favor of accepting the accusations offered by the PGR to make the 250 defendants defendants. The magistrates analyze each case cited by the Office of the Attorney General, assigning the corresponding penalty to the alleged crimes committed.

This voting phase in the virtual plenary runs until 23:59 on May 22nd. In judgments in this modality, ministers only cast their votes without discussing them.

The last block, which ended the voting on Monday night (16), ended with the score of 8 to 2. In all, the Supreme Court has already opened criminal proceedings against 795 allegedly involved in the acts of January 8.
