Former president of the Brics bank, economist Marcos Troyjo will be a “fellow” at the University of Oxford, in England, starting in September.
For one year, he will study the impact of globalization on subnational entities. “It is where the next chapter of the global integration process will take place”, he says.
Troyjo will be associated with the Blavatnik School of Government, occupying a position destined for academics who have the characteristic of being “transformational leaders”. The vacancy is currently occupied by former President of Colombia Iván Duque (2018-22).
Before being appointed head of the Novo Banco de Desenvolvimento, responsible for financing projects for the Brics bloc, Troyjo worked on the team of the Minister of Economy in the Jair Bolsonaro (PL) government, Paulo Guedes. He has also been mentioned as a possible collaborator of the governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans).
