The minister of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), André Mendonça, will be one of the speakers at the Annual Convention of the Brazilian Association of Conservative Jurists (Abrajuc), next Friday (15). The event will be held in Brasília (DF) and will have the theme: Democracy and Rule of Law.

According to Abrajuc, in addition to Mendonça, the minister of the Superior Labor Court (TST), Ives Gandra Filho, is also confirmed as speakers at the event; the minister of the Superior Court of Justice (STJ), Humberto Martins; the Deputy Attorney General of the Military Public Ministry (MPM), Carlos Frederico; the Federal Attorney of the Attorney General’s Office (AGU), Felipe Dantas; and the judge of the Court of Justice of Pernambuco (TJ-PE), Andréa Cartaxo.

The event will also feature lectures by the Union lawyer, Tércio Tokano; the judges of the Court of Justice of Rio de Janeiro (TJ-RJ), Rogério Souza, Vitor Marcelo and Flávio Horta; the vice-president of OAB-RJ, Ana Tereza Basílio; lawyers Daniel Homem de Carvalho and Rodrigo Roca; and Law professor, Marcus Seixas.

Founded in August 2021, among other actions, Abrajuc has already criticized the appointment of the former Minister of Justice, Flávio Dino, to the STF; publicly asked for one of the Supreme Court ministers to appeal against the holding of the trial on the decriminalization of abortion in a virtual plenary session; repudiated the compulsory retirement of judge Ludmila Lins Grilo for criticizing decisions made by STF ministers; and has already refuted OAB complaints against former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL).
