State Government guarantees support for Sport Clube Macapá in the São Paulo Junior Football Cup – News of Brazil

The Government of Amapá confirmed this Friday, 12th, the guarantee of air tickets so that the athletes and technical committee of Sport Clube Macapá can return to the state after the São Paulo Junior Football Cup. The so-called ‘Copinha’ brings together 128 clubs from all over Brazil and players up to 20 years of age.
The Amapá team has been standing out in the competition and was the only team from the North region to qualify for the second phase of the Copinha. So far, the team has participated in three games and won a 4-0 victory against Potiguar, from Rio Grande do Norte.
Amapá athletes also secured two 1-1 draws when facing traditional teams, such as Vasco, from Rio de Janeiro, and Flamengo, from São Paulo. In the new stage, Sport Clube Macapá will face Ibrachina, from São Paulo, this Saturday, 13th, starting at 11am.
The tickets were purchased by the State Secretariat for Leisure Sports (Sedel) as an incentive for local sporting development, as detailed by the department manager, Rudney Cunha.
“The Government of Amapá has already guaranteed all tickets for the group to return home from the state of São Paulo. The hope now is for the team to continue playing well and advance even further in the competition.”highlights the secretary.
In a video posted on social media, the president of Macapá, Edilson Souza, and the vice president, Eide Figueira, acknowledged the support.
“Soon after the end of the game, which confirmed our classification, we received contact from the State Government who confirmed that the plane tickets for the entire delegation had already been purchased and, with that, we now have this guarantee. We just have to thank you for your support”cheered Souza.
Other support for the club came from senator Randolfe Rodrigues, who guaranteed an amendment with investments of R$100,000 to help with the team’s other expenses.
