Chain that has attracted attention for its drinks gourmet and more sophisticated environments, Starbucks Reserve has no plans to open in Brazil. The information was confirmed to the Coffee in the Press by the brand’s global press office.
Reserve is a brand launched by the American coffee shop to serve its best coffees. According to the company, the chain is committed to selecting the best beans and “evolving the coffee shop experience into something surprising and multi-sensory”.
It has been successful abroad and is expanding rapidly, with several openings around the world, especially in the Chinese market and the Middle East.
At the end of last year, Reserve opened a three-story store in the Empire State Building, an iconic building in New York, and, obviously, it has attracted the attention of thousands of tourists, including Brazilians.
Anyone who wants to visit a Starbucks Reserve unit, however, will have to travel, at least for now. The only stores in Latin America are in Mexico (4) and Chile (1).
ORFEU SWITCHES TO ALUMINUM CAPSULE AND LAUNCHES RECYCLING PROGRAM
Orfeu announced that its coffee capsules will now be made with aluminum, a material that is more recyclable than plastic. It is the same one used by Nespresso and other companies in the sector.
Experts and tasters say that aluminum capsules are better because, in addition to the material being more easily recycled, it better preserves the flavors and aromas of the coffee.
With the change, the company launched its own recycling program. Orfeu Recicla proposes that consumers keep used capsules until they reach 70 units. The customer then contacts the brand to schedule home collection via WhatsApp (11) 5184-3564.
According to Orfeu, the aluminum capsules will be available in Classic, Intense, Yellow Bourbon, Organic, Decaffeinated coffees and in future micro-lot launches.
PÃO DE AÇÚCAR GROUP BRAND LAUNCHES BIODEGRADABLE CAPSULE
Taeq, a Grupo Pão de Açúcar brand, launched biodegradable organic coffee capsules, made from PHA biopolymer, a natural material derived from cellulose and vegetable oils.
One of the company’s environmental goals is that, by 2030, 100% of private label packaging will be recyclable, reusable and/or compostable.
The product is available in Pão de Açúcar and Extra chain stores and on the companies’ e-commerce (R$ 24.49 for a box with 10 capsules).
