The Macapá Verão program, in the Fazendinha neighborhood, attracted several athletes and a large public this Sunday (16). The modalities practiced were water marathon, volleyball and powerlifting, as weightlifting is known. The competitions took place almost simultaneously.
Public agent Izabele Silva, 24, found out about the swimming marathon on social media and decided to face the competition. “I have been swimming since my childhood. The route was very complex for me, as I had never swum in a river, only in a pool. But very challenging, but I managed to finish”, said the competitor.
Student Lucas Barbosa, aged 12, was the youngest in the swimming marathon. This was the third competition that the athlete faced. “It was exhausting, but I did it. I am very happy with my result and for the opportunity to participate”, he added.
Luan Reymond, 18 years old, is new to powerlifting and saw the Macapá Verão program as an opportunity to boost his training. “We gave our blood in training to get here. This open space for sports practice is everything an athlete needs to have the opportunity to excel in sport”, said the athlete.
On two courts, 4 sand volleyball teams competed at the same time in the arena open to the public.
In addition to sports practices in competitions, the Macapá City Hall offered Macapá Summer bathers the River Tour Caboclo, an experience that guarantees a trip along the Amazon River and a true immersion in the knowledge of the fauna and flora of our region. The Municipal Institute of Tourism (MacapaTur) also performs the Banana Boat practice, also on the Amazon River, ensuring fun for visitors
