SP: PSDB bench reacts to Leite and declares support for Nunes – 02/27/2024 – Panel

In a meeting this Tuesday (27), the group of state deputies of the PSDB-Cidadania federation met and decided to announce support for the pre-candidacy of Ricardo Nunes (MDB), mayor of São Paulo.
Eight of the federation’s twelve parliamentarians participated in the meeting, and the prospect is that at least ten will take part in the deliberation.
The statement comes in reaction to the position of the government of Rio Grande do Sul, Eduardo Leite, who stated in an interview with the newspaper “O Globo” that supporting the emedebista is at odds with the PSDB’s project of representing an alternative in the national political context, because, according to him , Nunes chose to “associate herself precisely with the [ex-presidente Jair] Bolsonaro.”
Tucano state deputy Barros Munhoz says that support for Nunes is a “clear, transparent demonstration, so that there is no other movement that takes us away from this direction.”
In the PSDB, there is a wing of the party, headed by federal deputy Aécio Neves (MG), which defends its own candidacy, and there is also another that advocates for the party to support the pre-candidacy of Tabata Amaral (PSB).
