Son of Benedito Gonçalves sports designer clothes and video goes viral

Businessman Felipe Brandão, son of minister Benedito Gonçalves, of the Superior Court of Justice (STJ), had a video recorded by a Dutch digital influencer that went viral on social media last weekend. He posed wearing high-value designer clothes and objects during a trip to Amsterdam with assets that combined, depending on the place of purchase and the models, could total more than R$1.2 million. The use of designer brands is not illegal or irregular.

Brandão was walking through the streets of the Dutch capital with a woman and a child when he was stopped by a local influencer who asked to record him describing the clothes and accessories they were wearing (see in full).

He described the pieces as a Richard Mille RM-011 watch that the author of the video says costs around 200,000 Euros (R$1 million), a pair of Nike sneakers in partnership with Louis Vuitton, a pair of Denim Tears pants, a Prada jacket, bracelets from Cartier and Van Cleef jewelry and a Dior backpack, as well as an iPhone that appears to be state-of-the-art.

The people who accompanied him were also wearing designer clothes from Cartier and Van Cleef and from The North Face, known for high-value clothes suitable for extreme cold.

Felipe Brandão introduces himself in the video as a businessman who buys and sells luxury watches in Rio de Janeiro. On his personal Instagram profile, he says he is an enthusiast of watches, lifestyle, business involving sneakers and an ambassador for an online brand selling clothes and accessories.

“I am not a businessman. I’m the business, man”, says his description on the social network. Brandão has 11 thousand followers on Instagram, but his profile is closed to anyone who doesn’t follow him.

However, in the video published on Tik Tok, the Dutch influencer showed a reproduction of Brandão’s profile in which it is possible to see him posing in front of a luxury sports car, with a designer bag and visiting places such as Paris, Dubai, Punta Cana, Carmel and Miami, in the United States.

Gonçalves was the rapporteur of the case against former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) at the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) that made him ineligible for eight years, in November last year. At the TSE, the work of the minister, who is close to Lula, was mainly marked by antagonism towards Bolsonaro and his supporters. During the PT member’s diplomacy ceremony as President of the Republic, last year, Gonçalves generated controversy for having whispered in the ear of the President of the Electoral Court, Minister Alexandre de Moraes, without paying attention to the microphones: “Mission given is mission accomplished” .
