Solidarity negotiates with PDT and PSB to form a federation – 07/03/2023 – Panel

Solidariedade, chaired by Paulinho da Força, is taking part in conversations with the PDT and PSB to form a federation, with the municipal elections of 2024 and the disputes of 2026 on the horizon.

The negotiations between PDT and PSB were revealed by the newspaper O Globo and confirmed by the Panel.

Paulinho da Força has already met with Carlos Lupi, Minister of Social Security and president of the PDT, and Carlos Siqueira, of the PSB, to discuss the issue.

At the meeting with Siqueira this Tuesday (7), the presidents of the parties addressed the tension that exists between representatives of the party in Pernambuco — Marilia Arraes (Solidariedade) and João Campos (PSB) became political opponents in 2020, when they ran for mayor of Recife. Last year, João supported Marilia in the second round of the state government election.

“Pernambuco will not be a problem at all. Marilia is a progressive girl, she is the granddaughter of our dear Miguel Arraes. Everything will be fine”, says Siqueira to the column. Paulinho adds that he does not consider it an insoluble problem and that PSB’s support for it in 2022 already paves the way for overcoming it.

The president of Solidariedade tells the Panel that the parties have already agreed that they will form a bloc for joint action in Congress. Next week, they intend to start the final agreements for the formation of the federation, after presenting the questions and demands of each acronym.
