The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) may have reached an agreement on who will be the next leader of the Brazilian national team. Italian Carlo Ancelotti, known for having worked for major European clubs, said yes to the proposal, according to ESPN’s assessment.

According to the website, the CBF and the coach will not publicly confirm any agreement at this time, as Ancelotti has a contract with the Spanish club until June 2024. There is also no commitment signed with the CBF, just a positive sign.

Discussion on the details of the three-year contract, starting from July 2023 until August 2026, after the World Cup finals in the United States, Mexico and Canada, is still ongoing.

The report also found that Brazilian Real Madrid players already have this information. They regret the fact that the coach is leaving the club, but they believe it is a good name to lead the five-time world champion team – the Meringue squad today has Éder Militão, Rodrygo and Vinicius Jr., all present in coach Tite’s group in the Qatar Cup .

The CBF is still looking for a technician to lead the team in this transition period, since the first FIFA Date of the year is scheduled for March (between the 20th and 28th). Ramon Menezes, who is leading the under-20 team in the South American category, would be one of those quoted for the period. The qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup are scheduled to start in June.

In the statement, the organization reiterated the statements made by President Ednaldo Rodrigues last Wednesday (8), when he “discarded speculation, saying that the matter is dealt with in a transparent manner and that the coach chosen will be announced in due time”.

This is the second time that the CBF issues a statement denying the hiring of Ancelotti, 63, who has titles in the five main leagues on the European continent: LaLiga (Spain), Premier League (England), Serie A (Italy), Bundesliga (Germany) and Ligue 1 (France).

On December 12 of last year, the entity “disauthorizes anyone to speak on behalf of the entity on the subject”. Seven days later, the Real Madrid coach himself stated that he intends to stay with the Meringue club until the end of his current contract, on June 30, 2024.
