Sisu results come out in the early afternoon, says minister – 01/31/2024 – Education

The Minister of Education, Camilo Santana, stated that the results of Sisu (Unified Selection System) will be released in the early afternoon of this Wednesday (31). The publication of the first list of those approved at federal universities in the country was scheduled for Tuesday (30), but was postponed due to technical problems in the system.

Santana stated that, due to the delay in publishing the Sisu results, the Ministry of Education is considering extending the deadline for registrations in ProUni (University for All Program) by one day, which grants scholarships at private universities.

“The forecast is that all Sisu results for Brazilian students will be released in the early afternoon. Due to this delay, we will also evaluate whether to extend Prouni registrations for another 24 hours”, said the minister this Wednesday morning, in interview with EBC.

Throughout Tuesday, millions of students waited for Sisu results, without a response from the ministry. At the end of the afternoon, the ministry alleged technical problems and reported that the result would only be released this Wednesday, without defining a time.

The Sisu result will be released on the MEC’s ​​Single Access Portal and at the educational institutions in which the candidate registered. Those selected have from February 1st to 7th to enroll.

Despite giving access to different universities, registrations at Sisu and Prouni are interconnected. According to the MEC, candidates registered with Sisu can register with Prouni. However, if you are selected by both, you have to choose one of the two programs.

Sisu, which offers places at federal universities based on the Enem test, will have a single selection starting this year and no longer every semester. In total, 264,254 places are offered in 127 educational institutions.

In addition, it will adopt the new rules of the Quota Law, which reserves 50% of vacancies for black, mixed-race, indigenous, quilombola and people with disabilities candidates who attended high school in a public school.

Another new feature is that the waiting list can be used throughout the year by educational institutions that participate in the program.

Thus, the candidate who is not selected in the regular call may express interest in participating in the waiting list, from January 30th to February 7th, also through the Single Access Portal.
