Manaus (AM) – The mayor of Borba, Simão Peixoto (MDB), arrested in Operation Voice of Power on Tuesday (9), will have access to a separate special cell and a lactose-free diet. The decision took place at the custody hearing held on Wednesday (10), by federal judge Ana Paula Serizawa Podedworny, of the Federal Court of Amazonas.
According to the decision, the Secretariat of Penitentiary Administration (Seap) was informed by letter, which emphasized the need for a lactose-free diet and the use of medication, as evidenced by the prescription in the possession of Federal Police (PF) agents.
The case is being processed at the Federal Regional Court (TRF1).

Operation Voice of Power investigates suspected witness tampering during an investigation into the embezzlement of public funds intended for the purchase of school meals, in 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Away from office for 180 days, Simão Peixoto, according to the PF, held video conferences with civil servants summoned to provide clarifications in the investigation, offering assistance, such as legal assistance and chartered flights, in an attempt to influence witnesses.
The mayor of Borba was arrested preventively so that the police could investigate the case and collect evidence.
